If you love fairytale fantasy novels, ROTBF is for you! Fantastic story, astonishing details in descriptions of worlds and characters, and excitement in every page. I found this novel unique with its new world building, and new creatures that I have never read about before (finally no vampires, no trolls, no wizards again!). I loved especially the author’s newly created words adjusted so well to the different fantasy realms. It is written for YA (10+) but I suggest it to everyone that loves a special, unique fantasy story. Among the characters, I especially loved the Cloud Queen, Rain (her daughter), Shine the rainsteed and Breeze (daughter of the Wind King). The story teaches us to respect the forces of nature as without them we could not live on the surface. Congratulations to the author for this brilliant novel!

This is a real fairytale. It’s a story about the fight between good and evil in a completely new fantasy world. The main character, Robert, is a human hero finding his way even out of the most hopeless situations (or astonishing creatures that help him during his mission). His partner, Marian, is extremely evil – I loved her comments, and her ability to change. Descriptions were great, sometimes I even felt fire around me and saw the dance of black flames. I loved the realms of the Forces of Nature, especially those of Night and Fire. And several questions remained at the end; I definitely will read book II!

ROTBF is an entertaining and special novel letting us from page to page learn more and more about the different realms (Fire, Water, Wind, Sun and Night), about their strange inhabitants and relationships. Its love story is also special! The story is about the classical fight of good and evil – just like in old folktales – but from a completely new viewpont, with completely new characters in an astonishing new fantasy world. I enjoyed every sentence and every page! The good hero will win at the end, but his path is full of mysteries and surprises. ROTBF is a YA novel but is absolutely enjoyable for adults as well. And at the end a few open questions popped up so I will certainly read the second book.

The idea is very interesting and unique. The novel’s world building is amazing. This is a new kind of fantasy story. I loved the forces of nature, how they were described and divided into two groups (good and evil). Descriptions are brilliant. Although characters could have developed a bit more, I enjoyed their changes. Gider is my favorite! So funny, so original!

ROTBF is a fairytale fantasy full with new creatures, an interesting mixture of Tolkien style and folklore. I enjoyed the personification of the forces of nature. My favorite was his Helioric Highness, the Sun! The author created a lot of new characters with very special and funny names (like Nightsprinklers, Sundrones, Watershapes and Firelings). We learn the story from the viewpoints of the two main characters (Robert and Marian), and because of the very detailed descriptions it was so easy to imagine every realm, every character. The story would be a great base for a movie! Characters change, the story is fascinating - set in a new fantasy world of creatures never mentioned in other books. I have never read anything like this before. Sometimes I expected more fight from Robert (he is saved many times by special creatures like Soleman Choppy) but at the end his fight with Fire is astonishing. I enjoyed the new voice of ROTBF and I am sure that young readers (age 10+) will love it.
